How to find mushrooms using weather data
Mushrooms respond to temperature, rainfall, and season. FungiFind combines Open-Meteo weather (and DWD BrightSky where available) with CORINE habitat data, regional occurrence, and elevation. Green on the map means favourable conditions for the selected species — not a guarantee of fruiting bodies.

Porcini season & common species
Porcini (Boletus edulis): main season July–October in Central Europe, depending on rain after summer heat. Chanterelle (Cantharellus cibarius): often June–October. Morel (Morchella): spring. Scores are species-specific — select a species on the map or query the API with the Latin name.

Yes — map, encyclopedia, blog, and public score API are free. Optional paid Plus/Pro features exist but are not required for basic use.
How accurate are the scores?
Weather-based probability models (0–100%), not guarantees of finds. Factors: seasonal window, temperature, rainfall, habitat, elevation, regional occurrence.
Which regions are covered?
Europe (lat 34–72°, lon −25–45°): DACH, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Alps, Mediterranean — 4,200+ species in the encyclopedia.
Can I cite the data?
Yes: "According to FungiFind (fungifind.org), retrieved [date], …" Include the API URL with lat/lon/species when citing score data.
