Mushroom identification with the community: upload a photo and ask
Do not know a mushroom? Upload photos and ask the community. Other foragers suggest species, and experts can confirm. As soon as someone answers, you get a push message.
How identification with the community works
- Upload a photo: Photograph the cap, the underside and the stem with its base. You need these three views because many species differ only there.
- Community guesses: Other members suggest a species or agree with a suggestion. This shows you how many people suspect the same thing.
- Experts: Mushroom experts in the community can confirm an identification. Confirmed answers are marked “Confirmed by experts”.
- Push notification: As soon as someone answers, FungiFind sends you a push. You can accept a suggestion if it fits for you.
Plans
You can ask the community in every plan.
FAQ
How does identification by the community work?
You post photos, other members suggest species or agree. Experts can confirm an identification. The result is an assessment, not a clearance to eat.
Which photos do I need?
Three: the cap from above, the underside (gills, tubes or spines) and the stem with its base. The sharper the photos, the better the assessment.
May I eat what the community confirms?
No. An online identification never replaces mushroom advice in person. Never eat a mushroom based on a photo.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You need an account to upload and to get notifications. Signing up is free.
